Local-First Products Force Honesty
When the product has to work locally, weak product thinking gets exposed fast. There is less room to hide inside cloud complexity and vague promises.
Local-first sounds technical, but the real effect is product clarity. There is less room to bluff.
If the data lives on the device, every feature has to justify itself. The architecture gets narrower. The UX has to respect actual constraints instead of pretending the cloud will fix it later.
That is part of why local products often feel sharper. Not automatically better. Just harder to fake.
You see the constraints earlier, which is usually better than discovering them after the product already sprawled.
