Fixed Price Only Works When the First Workflow Is Obvious
Fixed-price is clean when version one is narrow. It gets dishonest the moment discovery is still hiding inside the build.
People talk about fixed-price like it is a moral preference. It is not. It is just a shape that works when the first useful workflow is already visible.
If the product is still being discovered in real time, fixed-price becomes theater. The number looks cleaner than the reality under it.
The honest version is simple: one user, one job, one first release. Then fixed-price helps decisions instead of hiding uncertainty behind a nice-looking estimate.
Scope has to get small before price can get honest.
